So speak to me about drop ratio
Is it true, as I would assume from wiki it is, that heros, be it henchy or not steal loot from you? while if its just you, or you and your pet you have better odds in say EOTN to get gold drops?

Tried farming with and without henchies and heroes. Didn't really see that much of a difference. Occasionally I get more items than with henchies, but averaging the farms between the two didn't make any noticeable difference at all. The only definite difference I saw was in farming in teams of only ppl instead. There would just be drops all over. Some are gold. There was one trip where I seem to be getting more gold weapons than I usually get. Sorry if I didn't save the statistics. You'll have to take my word for it in this case.

Drop rates seem to be consistent for most items whether you're in a group of henchies or humans. Hench or hero drops just don't register on-screen. An example of this is the chests that spawn when you complete a quest for the reapers in the underworld: If the items are allocated to a player then they drop on the ground, if allocated to an NPC then the chest just appears empty.
I have just started W/N farming the raptor cave for asura points, and the drop rates there appear to be all over the place. My best run netted me 1 black dye, 5 gold items and a couple of saurian bones while i have had runs where nothing drops AT ALL. I haven't been doing it long enough to know whether events alter the drop rates or whether those drops are loot scaled at all. By the number of stacks of cupcakes on sale during and after the birthday celebration, I would kind of guess that they don't. Hope that helps. |

Doesn't wiki have explanations on loot scaling and drop ratio's already?
And which items are and are not scaled? |

I already told you all that I have read this information in the OP. But since it basically stated "heros and henchies will get all the good dops" - in not so many words, I wanted to know from your experience of taking heros and henchies out compared to you soloing

my experience is that loot scaling works exactly as it is explained in the wiki
did you want a conspiracy theory or something? |

It's just a random numbers game and if you farm enough you'll get yours. If you went in a group of 4 to 7 other players you'd have to share the drops just as well. This isn't meant to be a SOLO game and YOU get all the loot all the time. If you want that go play Diablo 2 or Neverwinter Nights. Plus if you get Zashien keys like I do you get tons of gold drops and lots of other drops as well. I farm Balthazar points and get Z-keys all the time easily. So quit worrying or QQing about the drop rate. The drop rate is fine for an ONLINE MMO game. It's not meant to be like Diablo 2 or Neverwinter Nights or Titans Quest. |

If a monster drops an item, it has an equal chance to drop for any party member within range (not greyed out on the party menu). This includes heroes and hench. If it drops for a hero or hench, nothing shows up, but often you can see the item drop until it hits the ground. I have seen dye drop many times and disappear as soon as it hits the ground because it was dropped for a hero or hench. Whether the heroes and hench get a BETTER chance than you for the 'good' drops is unknown, but highly unlikely.

the more people in ur party, the less drops you will get because drops will be split up. this is true whether u have heros, henchies, or real people. the less people in ur party, the more drops you will get. therefore, if it is just you, then yes, u have a much better chance at getting drops.

Has anyone tested the following scenario? Will require a patient friend or running two accounts.
Two people enter a zone together multiple times and clear it. Both parties count and record their drops to establish a baseline. Next, both parties enter the zone together to establish the drops, and then one leaves (best option), or remains out of range. Clear it again. Do this the same number of times as the first round of data collection. Again, count and record your drops. Then repeat it solo. If enough data points are collected, and there is a difference, it should be seen. This would be a time consuming study, but it should reveal any patterns, if any exist. The more data points the better, a minimum of 100 to 150 runs per scenario, would be a starting point. You might even spread it out over different times of day and different days of the week. Details of drops recorded could be classed any of several ways. The number of items dropped, divided into groups by color, the number and types of items, if looking for particular items, or number of items and the value, if looking for how much gold is made. If a similar study has been already done and the info is available somewhere, I would like to see it. |
